Critique Love, c\u2019est le projet de rock cin\u00e9matographique du compositeur Antoine Binette Mercier, notamment connu comme proche collaborateur de Julien Sagot. \u0152uvrant dans le milieu de la musique \u00e0 l\u2019image depuis une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es, Binette Mercier a notamment sign\u00e9 les trames sonores des t\u00e9l\u00e9s\u00e9ries Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 distincte et Le 422 ainsi que celle du documentaire Takedown: the DNA of GSP. Et, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son travail avec Sagot, il s\u2019int\u00e9resse aussi d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 percevoir la chanson comme un monde affranchi de tout cadre convenu et formel \u2013en r\u00e9sulte Critique Love : une porte vers un voyage plastifi\u00e9 de souvenirs, un d\u00e9filement d\u2019autoroutes teutonnes, de d\u00e9serts apocalyptiques, de cabarets dystopiques et de cosmos sond\u00e9, qui pourra plaire autant aux fans de Jonny Greenwood que de Suuns. Un premier album para\u00eetra cette ann\u00e9e sous Simone Records : du rock qui ira toujours ailleurs, des angoisses qu\u2019on sublime, de la lumi\u00e8re qui s\u2019immisce dans les interstices qu\u2019elle finit r\u00e9solument par cr\u00e9er.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Critique Love is the cinematic rock project of composer Antoine Binette Mercier, known in particular as a close collaborator of Julien Sagot. Working in the film music industry for around ten years, Binette Mercier has notably composed the soundtracks for the television series Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Distincte and Le 422 as well as the documentary Takedown: the DNA of GSP. And, thanks to his work with Sagot, he is also now interested in perceiving song as a world free from any conventional and formal framework – the result is Critique Love: a door to a plasticized journey of memories, a scrolling of Teutonic highways, apocalyptic deserts, dystopian cabarets and a probed cosmos, which will appeal to fans of Jonny Greenwood as well as Suuns. A first album will be released this year under Simone Records: rock that will always go elsewhere, anxieties that are sublimated, light that infiltrates the interstices that it resolutely ends up creating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antoine Corriveau<\/strong><\/strong> (18h)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avec Oiseau de Nuit, Antoine Corriveau signe un album profond\u00e9ment intime et exp\u00e9rimental. N\u00e9 de fragments d\u2019identit\u00e9s fictives et r\u00e9elles, le projet explore la dissociation, les violences invisibles et la qu\u00eate de transformation de soi. \u00c0 travers une narration labyrinthique o\u00f9 m\u00e9moire et fantasme se confondent, Corriveau cherche \u00e0 dire l\u2019indicible : les zones sombres qui fa\u00e7onnent l\u2019\u00eatre. Inspir\u00e9 par les codes du hip-hop et du sampling, il initie un processus de cr\u00e9ation libre, invitant une quinzaine de musicien\u00b7nes \u00e0 improviser en studio. Ces sessions deviennent la mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re de compositions audacieuses, o\u00f9 se m\u00ealent influences jazz, RnB, rap et po\u00e9sie brute. Aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de St\u00e9phane Bergeron, Fran\u00e7ois Lafontaine, Sheenah Ko ou VioleTT Pi, Corriveau b\u00e2tit un univers musical \u00e9clat\u00e9 et organique, \u00e9vitant le pastiche tout en s\u2019inspirant d\u2019artistes comme Kendrick Lamar, Alice Coltrane ou Makaya McCraven. L\u2019autre moiti\u00e9 de l\u2019album revient \u00e0 l\u2019essentiel : piano, guitare, solitude. Ce double mouvement, entre densit\u00e9 collective et d\u00e9pouillement introspectif, permet \u00e0 Corriveau de d\u00e9voiler, pour la premi\u00e8re fois, des parts de lui-m\u00eame jusque-l\u00e0 tues. Oiseau de Nuit est un voyage identitaire, entre pass\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent, o\u00f9 la musique devient acte de r\u00e9surrection, et la cr\u00e9ation. Tout pour se sentir vivant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Oiseau de Nuit, Antoine Corriveau delivers a bold and intimate album that blurs the lines between fiction and autobiography. Inspired by imagined lives and inner transformations, the album delves into invisible violence, dissociation, and the need to become other\u2014a new self capable of transcending past darkness. Memory and fantasy entwine, creating a deeply layered narrative. Initially drawn to hip-hop production and sampling, Corriveau avoids stylistic mimicry by building his own soundbank through improvisation. He invited over a dozen musicians to record freely in his studio\u2014St\u00e9phane Bergeron, Fran\u00e7ois Lafontaine, Sheenah Ko, VioleTT Pi, among others\u2014laying the foundation for a sonic tapestry influenced by jazz, RnB, rap, and spiritual music. Artists like Kendrick Lamar, Alice Coltrane, Makaya McCraven, and Georgia Anne Muldrow guided his exploratory process. While half the album is rooted in these collective sessions, the other half returns to Corriveau\u2019s core: stripped-down songwriting at the piano or guitar. This dual approach\u2014expansive and introspective\u2014reveals parts of himself never before expressed in his music. Oiseau de Nuit is a journey through childhood, adolescence, and identity, offering a poetic, sometimes raw portrait of becoming. Music here is not just expression\u2014it is survival, and ultimately, a declaration of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
