Avec Blurring Time, Bells Larsen propose un album profond\u00e9ment intime et r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi, o\u00f9 le temps devient un espace fluide et c\u00e9r\u00e9moniel. Pens\u00e9 en r\u00e9sonance avec sa transition de genre, le disque incarne une volont\u00e9 de r\u00e9concilier pass\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent : enregistr\u00e9 d\u2019abord avec sa voix d\u2019avant, Larsen a ensuite attendu que sa voix change sous testost\u00e9rone pour y superposer des harmonies graves, cr\u00e9ant ainsi un dialogue bouleversant entre diff\u00e9rentes versions de lui-m\u00eame. Avec l\u2019aide de Georgia Harmer, il construit une \u0153uvre o\u00f9 chaque voix trouve sa place. R\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Graham Ereaux, Blurring Time navigue entre indie lo-fi des ann\u00e9es 90 et folk contemplatif. Les arrangements \u00e9voquent l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gance d\u2019artistes comme Elliott Smith ou Adrienne Lenker, tandis que les textes abordent les liens fraternels, la construction d\u2019un monde queer et la complexit\u00e9 du devenir. On Blurring Time, Bells Larsen transforms time into a series of patient, ceremonial acts. Reflecting their gender transition, the album is a bold exploration of identity in flux. Larsen intentionally recorded their higher, pre-testosterone voice and instrumentation in 2022, then waited for their voice to deepen before enlisting longtime collaborator Georgia Harmer to arrange harmonies with their present, lower voice\u2014creating a poignant and intentional duet with the self. Produced by Graham Ereaux, the album blends ’90s indie lo-fi with emotionally rich folk ballads. Unlike previous work where Larsen\u2019s voice remained subdued, Blurring Time brings both past and present voices to the forefront. The result is an emotionally resonant, sonically layered album drawing comparisons to Elliott Smith, Sufjan Stevens, and Adrienne Lenker. Themes include sibling relationships, queer world-building, and quiet revelations, wrapped in lush, intimate soundscapes. Rejecting the binary of \u201cbefore and after,\u201d Larsen embraces the connective thread of \u201cand.\u201d In their words, \u201cI wanted to reach out to older versions of myself and carry them with me as I grow.\u201d Blurring Time is a radical act of self-compassion\u2014a musically rich and politically tender portrait of transition, memory, and becoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
