Il s\u2019est d\u2019abord fait conna\u00eetre gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa reprise envo\u00fbtante et trip-hop de No Diggity de Blackstreet, avant de sortir plusieurs autres singles sous le nom de Chet Faker, dont des collaborations remarqu\u00e9es avec Flume et Kilo Kish. Son premier album, Built on Glass (2014), \u00e0 la fois sensuel et minimaliste, conna\u00eet un immense succ\u00e8s, se hissant en t\u00eate des classements et obtenant une certification platine en Australie. Par la suite, Murphy d\u00e9cide de publier sa musique sous son v\u00e9ritable nom, adoptant une approche plus organique et soul avec Run Fast Sleep Naked, son deuxi\u00e8me album sorti en 2019. Il relance toutefois le projet Chet Faker en 2021 avec l\u2019album Hotel Surrender. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il d\u00e9voile \u00e9galement son groupe Nick Murphy &amp; the Program avec l\u2019album Take in the Roses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Australian singer\/songwriter Nick Murphy is known for crafting atmospheric electronic productions under his real name as well as the moniker Chet Faker. First gaining recognition for his haunting trip-hop cover of Blackstreet&#8217;s &#8220;No Diggity,&#8221; he released several additional singles under the pseudonym, including charting collaborations with Flume and Kilo Kish, before his sensual, restrained debut full-length, Built on Glass, arrived in 2014. The album was a major success, topping the charts and earning a platinum certification in his home country. After reverting to his birth name, Murphy took a more soulful, organic approach for the release of his sophomore full-length, 2019&#8217;s Run Fast Sleep Naked. However, he later revived the Chet Faker project for the 2021 full-length Hotel Surrender.
