Membre fondateur de Sneaker Pimps, Chris Corner a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 se produire sous l\u2019alias \u00e9lectro-pop sombre IAMX en 2004. Inspir\u00e9 par l\u2019album Becoming X de Sneaker Pimps, Corner est ainsi devenu \u00ab X \u00bb, une variable en constante \u00e9volution selon ses propres mots. Adoptant les sonorit\u00e9s de la synth-pop et de la new wave \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de New Order, The Cure et Depeche Mode, tout en y ajoutant une dimension plus th\u00e9\u00e2trale, son travail en tant qu\u2019IAMX marque une rupture notable avec son pass\u00e9 au sein de Sneaker Pimps. Passant du synth-rock percutant de son premier album Kiss + Swallow (2004) aux influences cabaret noir de Kingdom of Welcome Addiction (2009), IAMX explore des territoires plus industriels avec Metanoia (2015), suivi d\u2019albums plus exp\u00e9rimentaux comme Unfall (2017) et Machinate (2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sneaker Pimps founding member Chris Corner began performing as the dark electro-pop persona IAMX in 2004. Named after the Sneaker Pimps album Becoming X, Corner had effectively become “X,” which he described as an ever-changing variable. Adopting the characteristics of synth pop and new wave acts like New Order, the Cure, and Depeche Mode and adding a greater sense of theatricality, Corner’s work as IAMX represented a notable departure from his work with the Sneaker Pimps. Moving from the pounding synth-rock of 2004 debut Kiss + Swallow, albums such as 2009’s Kingdom of Welcome Addiction incorporated elements of dark cabaret. 2015’s Metanoia, a heavy electro-industrial effort, was followed by more experimental releases like Unfall (2017) and Machinate (2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
