Soulside est n\u00e9 \u00e0 Washington, DC, en 1985 \u2014 s\u2019est s\u00e9par\u00e9 en 1989 \u2014 puis est revenu ensemble en 2014. Il n\u2019ont pas arr\u00eat\u00e9 de jouer et d\u2019\u00e9crire de la musique depuis. Apr\u00e8s avoir sorti leur premier album chez Sammich\/Dischord, ils ont enregistr\u00e9 Trigger (Dischord, 1988) et Hot Bodi-Gram (Dischord, 1989), qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9unis sur le CD Soon Come Happy en 1990. Le groupe a effectu\u00e9 de nombreuses tourn\u00e9es aux \u00c9tats-Unis et en Europe au cours de ces ann\u00e9es, y compris des concerts en Pologne et \u00e0 Berlin-Est en 1989, juste avant la chute du mur de Berlin. Soulside formed in Washington, DC, in 1985, split up in 1989, then reformed in 2014 and has continued playing and writing music since then. After releasing their debut album on Sammich\/Dischord, they recorded Trigger (Dischord, 1988) and Hot Bodi-Gram (Dischord, 1989), which were combined on the Soon Come Happy CD in 1990. The band toured extensively in the US and Europe during these years, including groundbreaking shows in Poland and East Berlin shortly before the Berlin Wall fell in 1989.\u00a0 In 2020, Soulside put out a new 7-inch, This Ship, their first release in 30 years, which was recorded in Prague. Happy\u201d, released in 1990 and re-mastered in 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scream voit le jour en 1979. Le batteur Kent Stacks, le bassiste Skeeter Enoch Thompson et les fr\u00e8res Pete et Franz Stahl vont \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole ensemble \u00e0 Bailey\u2019s Crossroads, en Virginie, lorsqu\u2019ils commencent \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir la sc\u00e8ne punk et new wave de Washington et le pouvoir provocateur de la musique. Comme la plupart des groupes punk de Washington, ils sont influenc\u00e9s par Bad Brains, mais ils se distinguent par leur sensibilit\u00e9 rock n\u2019 roll. En 1982, ils se rendent au studio Inner Ear avec Ian MacKaye et Eddie Janney pour enregistrer le premier album complet de Dischord, Still Screaming. Le groupe a depuis connu quelques changements, notamment l\u2019ajout de leur ami Harley Davidson \u00e0 la seconde guitare, et, lorsque Kent Stacks a quitt\u00e9 le groupe pour fonder une famille, ils ont demand\u00e9 \u00e0 un jeune batteur local, Dave Grohl, de prendre la rel\u00e8ve. En 1996, lors d\u2019un concert de No\u00ebl, Kent Stacks est redevenu le batteur de Scream. Le concert a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9 et est sorti en CD, Live at the Black Cat. Au cours des ann\u00e9es suivantes, chacun a pris des directions diff\u00e9rentes \u2014 Franz a rejoint les Foo Fighters pendant un temps et Pete a jou\u00e9 avec Goatsnake et earthlings?. Le groupe est revenu ensemble en 2011, avec Clint Walsh \u00e0 la seconde guitare, pour enregistrer Complete Control Sessions, qui est sorti en tant qu\u2019EP chez Side One Dummy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scream formed in 1979. Drummer Kent Stacks, bassist Skeeter Enoch Thompson and the brothers Pete and Franz Stahl attended school together in Bailey\u2019s Crossroads, Virginia, when they began to discover the punk and new wave scene in DC and the provocative power of making music. Like most of the punk bands in DC, they were influenced by the Bad Brains, but their rock and roll sensibilities set them apart. In 1982, they went into Inner Ear Studio with Ian MacKaye and Eddie Janney to record Dischord\u2019s first full length album, Still Screaming.
They made a few line-up changes along the way, including the addition of their friend Harley Davidson on second guitar, and, when Kent Stacks left the band to start a family, they asked a young local drummer, Dave Grohl, to take over. After a number of years with \u201cthe Scream team,\u201d Dave went on to join Nirvana and form The Foo Fighters. In 1996, at a Christmas reunion show, Kent Stacks returned as Scream\u2019s drummer; the show was recorded and released as the CD \u201cLive at the Black Cat.\u201d Over the next few years, everyone branched out in different directions \u2013 Franz joined the Foo Fighters for a short period and Pete played with Goatsnake and earthlings? The band returned as a unit, with Clint Walsh on second guitar, in 2011 to record the Complete Control Sessions, which was released as an EP on Side One Dummy and was, until now, the band\u2019s most recent release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
