Une semaine apr\u00e8s sa sortie officielle, le public aura l’occasion de d\u00e9couvrir le prochain album de Jon Hopkins, RITUAL (Domino Record), dans son int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 au Centre PHI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contrepartie cin\u00e9tique de la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente sortie de l\u2019artiste, l\u2019odyss\u00e9e introspective c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e Music For Psychedelic Therapy, cette nouvelle \u0153uvre est une piste unique. Une \u00e9pop\u00e9e c\u00e9r\u00e9monielle de 41 minutes, construite \u00e0 partir de basses caverneuses, de percussions hypnotiques et d’interactions m\u00e9lodiques transcendantes. Tendue, immersive et triomphante, cette odyss\u00e9e est la culmination des th\u00e8mes explor\u00e9s au cours des 22 ans de carri\u00e8re de l\u2019artiste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Je n’ai aucune id\u00e9e de ce que je fais quand je compose. Je ne sais pas d’o\u00f9 \u00e7a vient, ni o\u00f9 \u00e7a va. Je sais juste quand c’est termin\u00e9. Ce qui est clair, c’est que cette composition avait la structure d’un rituel. Je sais ce que ce celui-ci signifie pour moi, mais ce sera diff\u00e9rent pour vous. Tout ce que je sais, c’est qu’il avait le pouvoir d\u2019un outil, voire d\u2019une machine, pour ouvrir des portails dans votre monde int\u00e9rieur, pour d\u00e9bloquer des choses cach\u00e9es et enfouies. Cela ne ressemble donc pas \u00e0 un album, mais plut\u00f4t \u00e0 un processus \u00e0 traverser, quelque chose qui agit sur vous. \u00bb – Jon Hopkins<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construit avec amour et soin \u00e0 partir de plusieurs centaines de composantes par une \u00e9quipe de collaborateur\u00b7trice\u00b7s de confiance, Jon per\u00e7oit son r\u00f4le comme semblable \u00e0 celui d\u2019un \u00ab constructeur de temple \u00bb, avec en main chaque brique et d\u00e9tail ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 soigneusement fa\u00e7onn\u00e9s et color\u00e9s au service de l’ensemble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This celebration will continue with small-group listening sessions in our listening room, Habitat Sonore, from September 6 to 8 and September 13 to 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One week after its official release, the public will have the opportunity to discover Jon Hopkins’ next album, RITUAL (Domino Record), in its entirety at the PHI Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A kinetic counterpart to the artist’s previous release, the celebrated introspective odyssey Music For Psychedelic Therapy, this new work is a one-off track. A 41-minute ceremonial epic, built from cavernous bass, hypnotic percussion and transcendent melodic interplay. Tense, immersive and triumphant, this odyssey is the culmination of themes explored over the artist’s 22-year career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have no idea what I’m doing when I compose. I don’t know where it’s coming from, or where it’s going. I just know when it’s finished. What is clear is that this composition had the structure of a ritual. I know what this one means to me, but it will be different for you. All I know is that it had the power of a tool, a machine even, to open portals into your inner world, to unlock hidden and buried things.
