He had the exceptional good fortune to be guided by pianist\/musical and vocal director Claude Soucy, and to receive expert advice from renowned stage director and &#8220;leader of today&#8217;s opera scene&#8221; Fran\u00e7ois Racine. Winner of an Award of Excellence at the 2022 C\u00e9gep de Sainte-Foy Musical Expression Prize Gala, William particularly distinguished himself during his college career by winning 1st prize in the &#8220;Vocal (18 years old)&#8221; category of the Canadian Music Competition. He was awarded McGill University&#8217;s prestigious Schulich Scholarship, which enabled him to complete a Bachelor&#8217;s degree with renowned Canadian baritone Brett Polegato and pianist\/vocal coach Louise Pelletier. In 2023, William won 1st prize in his category at the Concours de La Rel\u00e8ve Musicale de Qu\u00e9bec, as well as the French melody prize donated by baritone Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Lapointe and the prize awarded by jury president Rachel Martel for best stage presence in the competition&#8217;s &#8220;Ma\u00eetrise&#8221; category. The same year, he also won 1st prize in the &#8220;Classical Singing&#8221; category of the Sherbrooke Music Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originaire de L\u00e9vis, au Qu\u00e9bec, le baryton\u00a0<strong>William Dorais<\/strong>\u00a0a compl\u00e9t\u00e9 un dipl\u00f4me d&#8217;\u00e9tudes coll\u00e9giales en musique au C\u00e9gep de Sainte-Foy avec les mezzo-sopranos Lysianne Tremblay et Linda Dumont. Il a eu la chance exceptionnelle d&#8217;\u00eatre guid\u00e9 par la pianiste\/directrice musicale et vocale, Claude Soucy, et de recevoir les conseils avis\u00e9s du renomm\u00e9 metteur en sc\u00e8ne et &#8220;chefs de file de la sc\u00e8ne lyrique actuelle&#8221;, Fran\u00e7ois Racine. Laur\u00e9at d&#8217;un prix d&#8217;excellence \u00e0 l\u2019issue du gala 2022 du Prix d\u2019expression musicale du C\u00e9gep de Sainte-Foy, William s&#8217;est particuli\u00e8rement distingu\u00e9 pendant son parcours coll\u00e9gial en remportant le 1er prix dans la cat\u00e9gorie &#8220;Chant (18 ans)&#8221; du Concours de musique du Canada.
