In his own words, Blick says: \u201cI love playing in the US and Canada, countries where artistic appreciation is deeply rooted. I enjoy strolling along the vast roads that connect cities and provide a unique opportunity to admire the magnificent landscape of this country.\u201d The new performance artistically reinterprets the various tracks from Madiba, which saw Blick experiment with electronic production to support his iconic voice and composition style for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Musically, Mad\u00edb\u00e1 takes Blick in a new direction, spurred by a love of James Blake and Bon Iver to relocate his voice in electronic textures with more spare instrumentation. The album (recorded between Paris, Biarritz, and Quimper and produced\/composed with Romain Jovion), lets Bassy\u2019s voice dominate, carried by delicate guitar, synthesizer, bassoon, and brass. The cuts are diaphanous and nevertheless modernist and testify to a contemporary and poetic Africanity at the crossroads of soul, folk, and electro. The album released in May 2023 has been supported by a wide list of media including Louder Than War, Bandcamp, Les Inrocks, Le Monde, Mojo, Afropop Worldwide, and aired on BBC6, KCRW, KEXP, Radio Eins, and FIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En soutien \u00e0 son album Madiba (mai 23), acclam\u00e9 par la critique, Blick Bassy revient en Am\u00e9rique du Nord en avril\/mai pour une longue tourn\u00e9e de printemps aux \u00c9tats-Unis et au Canada. Blick d\u00e9clare : &#8220;J&#8217;adore jouer aux \u00c9tats-Unis et au Canada, des pays o\u00f9 l&#8217;appr\u00e9ciation artistique est profond\u00e9ment enracin\u00e9e. J&#8217;aime me promener le long des vastes routes qui relient les villes et offrent une occasion unique d&#8217;admirer les magnifiques paysages de ce pays.&#8221; La nouvelle performance r\u00e9interpr\u00e8te artistiquement les diff\u00e9rents morceaux de Madiba, qui a vu Blick exp\u00e9rimenter la production \u00e9lectronique pour soutenir sa voix embl\u00e9matique et son style de composition pour la premi\u00e8re fois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Musicalement, Mad\u00edb\u00e1 emm\u00e8ne Blick dans une nouvelle direction, pouss\u00e9 par son amour de James Blake et de Bon Iver \u00e0 relocaliser sa voix dans des textures \u00e9lectroniques avec une instrumentation plus d\u00e9pouill\u00e9e.
