Having built their sound through the painstaking assembly of countless fragments of Japanese folk, psychedelia, Brazilian surf rock and other distant touchstones, the Montreal-based seven-piece have surrendered and learned by stretching out in floating experiments on the road. Currently releasing their second album, Hagata (due June 9 via Kill Rock Stars), TEKE::TEKE fully evolves in the in-between space, embracing the power of mythical couples and lived identities at once. Combining muscular intensity with clouded moments of meditation &#8211; like a world-class high jumper finding happiness at the apex of his leap &#8211; the band frames expressive compositions with regal flute, rich horns, ecstatic guitar and a percussive rhythm section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le groupe de rock psych\u00e9d\u00e9lique TEKE::TEKE est intimement familier avec la dualit\u00e9, la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 partag\u00e9e entre pass\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sent, les m\u00e9lodies complexes et les interm\u00e8des feutr\u00e9s, l&#8217;action intense et la r\u00e9ponse persistante.
