Featuring the trans-traditional aesthetics of composer Sandeep Baghwati, this concert revolves around his piece Rasas (Ritual and Sophisticated Areas of Sound), in which the musicians follow a musical path guided by different human emotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the Indian artistic tradition, the \u201cRasas\u201d consist of a system for classifying the emotions that form the basic components of all artistic manifestations. In this work, Sandeep Bhagwati has developed 64 sections within a matrix, which can be arranged in various combinations. Before each performance, the performers choose a combination and, through their unique arrangement, offer a different interpretation of the piece each time. Recalling the thought of the great Quebec composer Gilles Tremblay, who said, \u201cA bird never sings the same way twice\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program will be rounded out by three works by up-and-coming composers. French composer Daphn\u00e9 Hejebri explores the energy circulating in a colorful, kaleidoscopic space, while Franco-Ontarian Thierry Tidrow plays playfully with the emotions hidden behind each musical chord. New Brunswick\u2019s Sophie Dupuis, meanwhile, takes us on a voyage into marine soundscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans la tradition artistique indienne, les \u00abRasas\u00bb consistent en un syst\u00e8me de classification des \u00e9motions qui forment les composantes de base de toutes les manifestations artistiques. Dans cette \u0153uvre, Sandeep Bhagwati a \u00e9labor\u00e9 64 sections au sein d\u2019une matrice, qui peuvent \u00eatre agenc\u00e9es selon diverses combinaisons. Rappelant ainsi la pens\u00e9e du grand compositeur qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois Gilles Tremblay, qui mentionnait \u00abQu\u2019un oiseau ne chante jamais deux fois de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Le programme sera compl\u00e9t\u00e9 par trois \u0153uvres issues de la rel\u00e8ve. La compositrice fran\u00e7aise Daphn\u00e9 Hejebri explore l\u2019\u00e9nergie circulant dans un espace color\u00e9 et kal\u00e9idoscopique tandis que le franco-ontarien Thierry Tidrow joue de mani\u00e8re ludique avec les \u00e9motions cach\u00e9es derri\u00e8re chaque accord musical. Sophie Dupuis du Nouveau-Brunswick nous emporte quant \u00e0 elle vers des paysages sonores marins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
