First the 21st century, with a premiere by\u00a0<strong>Sne\u017eana Ne\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>, winner of the 2023 OUM Concerto Competition, then the 20th, with excerpts from\u00a0<strong>Ravel<\/strong>\u2019s ballet\u00a0<em>Daphnis et Chlo\u00e9<\/em>. That work, in which the composer evokes the \u201cGreece of his dreams,\u201d was premiered by the renowned Ballets Russes, with Nijinsky in the role of Daphnis. The shimmering colours of the orchestra and the delicacy of the writing imbue this score with a tantalizingly sensual poetry. As for the 19th century, that will be illustrated by one of its most famous representatives,\u00a0<strong>Felix Mendelssohn<\/strong>, who wrote a vibrant Concerto for Two Pianos in order to perform it with his sister, Fanny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019<strong>Orchestre de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al\u00a0<\/strong>ouvre brillamment sa saison avec un concert qui parcourt trois si\u00e8cles de musique. D\u2019abord le 21e si\u00e8cle, avec une cr\u00e9ation de\u00a0<strong>Sne\u017eana Ne\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>, laur\u00e9ate du Concours de composition de l\u2019OUM 2023, puis le 20e avec des extraits du ballet Daphnis et Chlo\u00e9<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>de\u00a0<strong>Ravel<\/strong>. Cette \u0153uvre, dans laquelle le compositeur \u00e9voque la \u00ab\u00a0\u2009Gr\u00e8ce de ses r\u00eaves\u2009\u00a0\u00bb, fut cr\u00e9\u00e9e par les c\u00e9l\u00e8bres Ballets russes, avec Nijinski dans le r\u00f4le de Daphnis. Les couleurs chatoyantes de l\u2019orchestre et la finesse de l\u2019\u00e9criture teintent cette partition d\u2019une po\u00e9sie d\u00e9licatement sensuelle.
