Se disant inspir\u00e9 par les Joy Division, Bauhaus et les Iggy Pop, Samwoy vient rocker la cabane avec des teintes t\u00e9n\u00e9breuses, sur des assauts de guitare, des synth\u00e9s tranchants et des voix caverneuses, comme il se doit. Son dernier disque, Awkward Party, est un voyage en d\u00e9rapage contr\u00f4l\u00e9 dans la fureur de la condition humaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Behind the name lies Montreal producer and songwriter Sam Woywitka, who has collaborated on projects as varied as they are striking (Pat Watson, Half Moon Run). Claiming to be inspired by the likes of Joy Division, Bauhaus and Iggy Pop, Samwoy rocks the shack with dark hues, guitar assaults, cutting synths and cavernous vocals, as it should be. Depuis 2010, le trio distille un rock \u00e0 g\u00e9om\u00e9trie variable, syncop\u00e9, impr\u00e9visible, voire inclassable, que le principal int\u00e9ress\u00e9 d\u00e9cline comme ceci : \u00ab \u00e9lectro aimant \u00e0 courant alternatif \u00bb! Sur leur dernier album intitul\u00e9 Suicide Baloney, on capte les murmures d\u2019un Mr Bungle et d\u2019un Zappa, entre autres, et on voyage sur la po\u00e9sie surr\u00e9aliste de Gagnon. Un tsunami de libert\u00e9 cr\u00e9atrice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A true veteran of the independent music scene, VioleTT Pi&#8217;s members include the mastermind of the whole affair, singer and guitarist Karl Gagnon, Maxime Drouin on drums and Sylvain Deschamps on keyboards and bass. Since 2010, the trio has been distilling variable-geometry, syncopated, unpredictable, even unclassifiable rock, which their main character describes as &#8220;electro magnet with alternating current&#8221;! On their latest album, Suicide Baloney, we hear the whispers of Mr Bungle and Zappa, among others, and travel on Gagnon&#8217;s surreal poetry.
