Marie-Gold: “Impatiente”

by Roxane Labonté

Games of illusion? Augmented reality? One thing is certain, Marie-Gold’s creative urgency isn’t just aesthetic.

Marie-Gold presents the music video of her song “Impatiente”, from last spring’s Règle d’or. We see her staging herself through several dummy sets (quite effective, though), eager to move up the ladder quickly. Her images, reworked in post-production software, also show her refusal to wait for others to make success her own. “Everything that goes up comes down / All the rappers say so / Everything comes at the right time to those who know how to wait / Too bad I’m impatient,” she says. Games of illusion? Augmented reality? One thing is certain, Marie-Gold’s creative urgency isn’t just aesthetic; the sacred fire can be heard throughout this catchy piece.
