Nuits d’Afrique de Montréal: Livestream of Ayrad and Bantü Salsa

par Alex Labonté

Festival International Nuits d’Afrique offers the third musical journey in its series En direct des Nuits d’Afrique de Montréal, with Ayrad and Bantü Salsa, this Thursday, October 22 at 8 pm!

Opening the show will be the Moroccan group Ayrad, who will be navigating between styles as eclectic as pop, rock, electro, funk, dancehall, Tuareg blues, raï, and bhangra, among others! Winner of a Félix in 2015 and nominated for a Juno Award, Ayrad promises to create a true meeting of cultures.

Combining Bantu rhythms with salsa as its name suggests, Bantü Salsa launched their album Kessaï last March , a project making it a point of honour to celebrate humanity and difference. Percussion, kora, brass, and piano do their part to create grooving African salsa! Ready for a trip to the four corners of the world?
