Laroie (the solo project from Gab Godon of Heartstreets) unveils “Let Me Be”, a sensual electro-pop track co-produced by Montrealer Robert Robert. The melodies being subtle, Laroie’s sublime voice blossoms freely and she speaks of the crucial importance of following one’s intuition. The music video, directed by Esmé Luciantonio and Vincent Papineau, with Fanny-Jane as artistic director, takes us into a fragmented universe where glitches abound. Visual distortions become aesthetic, while Laroie’s image refracts and crumbles into psychedelic ripples. Laroie will launch a debut EP, which she worked on with Robert Robert, at the end of the summer. Promising.
